Before leaving the country we promised ourselves that we would not walk around the city after dark – for safety reasons (unnecessarily). It took us a few hours of stay in Lima to effectively forget about this deal 🙂 After a bit of Spanish-English bargain with the taxi driver (course from Miraflores around 15 soles) we go to the heart and social center of Lima – Plaza Mayor (aka. de Armas). Sooner or later, every Lima visitor will get there – it is like the Warsaw Royal Castle (although I know some folks who didn’t reach it being in Warsaw 🙂 ). We spend a nice time sitting on a bench, sipping Cusquena and looking at locals.
